About Us

Apex Construction Associates was born from the passion Samuel Ramirez and his son, Dan, have for building things together. This father and son duo have been working together since Dan was a little kid and Samuel would take him along to job sites, where Dan would ride around on his dad's floor polisher. Samuel quickly discovered Dan had a knack for using tools and an uncanny ability to work with his hands, so he taught him everything he knew starting with how to install garage doors and openers. Dan installed his first garage door at the age of 13. Since then Samuel and Dan have installed numerous garage doors and openers; built numerous cabinets and pieces of furniture; remodeled Dan's house; and because they seem to think they don't have enough on their hands, they're currently building sea kayaks and a motorcycle together!

Samuel has been in the construction business for over 20 years, and before that he was an interior designer. During his time in the industry he has installed wooden floors, built cabinets, laid brick, poured concrete, hung Sheetrock, taped and floated drywall, installed windows, hung curtains, installed gutters, framed buildings, and plumbed sinks, to name a few of the things he knows how to do. He has worked on countless projects and collaborated with other professionals on many more; learning something new from all of them. His endless pursuit of perfection shows in all of his work and drives him to do his best on every job, a virtue he has instilled in his son.

Dan has been in the construction industry for 15 years, having helped his dad since he was a little kid. After installing his first garage door, Dan continued to install garage doors and openers for two years before moving on to building and installing custom cabinets. When he wasn't doing carpentry, he was helping his dad with remodeling projects for his customers. It was during this time that Dan learned how much he loved working with his hands and managing projects. Dan earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Texas A&M University, where he learned the ins and outs of project management that are so crucial to making the complexities of a construction project disappear, as well as the importance of quality control.

What will it take to make the world a better place? How much time? How much money? Apex believes that if we ALL pitch in a little bit of our time and resources it doesn't take much. Think about it, 1% of an 8-hour day is about 5 minutes, or about 20 hours a year. That is why, we have decided to join companies like Salesforce in the 1+1+1 program, where we make the communities we love better by giving them back a little of what they've given us. In short, we'll donate our time, resources, and skills to charitable organizations doing good for the world on fronts that we are passionate about.

Dan, Sam, and their employees will spend the equivalent to 1% of their work time, doing what they're great at and volunteering at a charity of their choice!
